It has been said that the value of something is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it.  Well if that’s the case then you and I are invaluable, we are priceless beyond measure because we were paid for with the life, death and resurrection of Christ!  The ability to grasp that statement has the potential to change your life.  Knowing and believing in your value will change how you look at yourself.  It will affect how you view your accomplishments and it will alter how you invest in your relationships.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to encourage or advocate an ego that is out of control, no, not at all!  That happens when we decide that through our own accomplishments we have become all that and a bag of chips (Do people still say that? #classof92).  We are definitely advised against this by one of our fathers in the faith.  Paul said in Romans 12:3 (NLT) “Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.”  What I am encouraging is that we are worthy of a healthy sense of self because of how much Jesus loves us.

We women tend to struggle with our self-esteem. We either think to highly of ourselves; our egos out of proportion with the rest of our lives, or we go full on #deflategate, sucking the air out of our self worth and labeling ourselves as “not enough”.  “Where’s the balance?” you ask.  Well, as is the case with all big life questions, the answer is found in Jesus.  We find the balance between egotistical and a deprecating in how the Lord sees us.

Let me throw some scriptures your way.  Now if you tend to see yourself as “less than”, or “not enough”, you may be tempted to treat this as a game of Dodgeball, where I lob a scripture out and you dart away from it as quickly as possible.  My prayer is that instead, you choose to catch what I throw your way. That you catch it in your spirit and allow it to change how you view yourself! Now onto the Word…

1 Corinthians 6:20 (AMP) You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.

Psalm 139:14 (AMP) I will give thanks and praise to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.

Philippians 4:13 (AMP) I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.]

1 PETER 2:9 (AMPBUT YOU ARE A CHOSEN RACE, A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, A CONSECRATED NATION, A [SPECIAL] PEOPLE FOR GOD’S OWN POSSESSION, SO THAT YOU MAY PROCLAIM THE EXCELLENCIES [THE WONDERFUL DEEDS AND VIRTUES AND PERFECTIONS] OF HIM WHO CALLED YOU OUT OF DARKNESS INTO HIS MARVELOUS LIGHT.

I hope that after reading these scriptures you can embrace a new thought process about yourself because these scriptures; they are about YOU!!!
