My friends are amazing! All of my girlfriends, through the course of my life have played a role in helping me to become the woman I am today. The truth is, all of our relationships change us, the question is are our relationships with our girlfriends changing us, and likewise are we changing our girlfriends, for the good? Are we challenging them and encouraging them to grow in their walk with the Lord?  Are we helping them to see themselves the way the Lord sees them?  Are we speaking the truth, in love, to them even when a conversation full of truth isn’t the most comfortable?

The key to being an UNSTOPPABLE Friend is helping your girlfriends to be unstoppable.  That means being real and being honest. It means imparting Godly wisdom into their lives.  As a woman of God who understands what it means to live a life for Jesus in today’s society you are a wellspring of knowledge and life experience!  Share it!  Women are meant to learn from one another!  It means being full of the Word and led by the Spirit.  It will mean being like Jesus.  Sometimes that’s easy, but then there are those other times.  There are the times that we love our friend, but we don’t agree with the choices that they are making.  In those times we need to decide on something, is this just our issue, or is this a prompting from the Holy Spirit? When it’s our opinion, we should feel free to share, but be willing to let it go if we need to.  If it’s from Jesus, well, that’s a different scenario.  In that instance you should definitely share your concerns, even if it is met with resistance.  Being an UNSTOPPABLE Friend doesn’t mean agreeing with everything your BF says or does.  It means being like Jesus, the friend who sticks closer than a brother.  He has set the ultimate example of love and friendship.  Have you ever had a time when you and your friend Jesus weren’t on the same page?  What did that look like when it happened?  That’s a rhetorical question. I already know what it looked like.  It looked like unconditional love.

When Jesus doesn’t agree with our decisions he tells us in a way that is full of love and compassion.  Sometimes we come around to his way of thinking and everything is great, but then there are the other times; you know what I’m talking about, the times we decide to do things our way no matter what.  In those moments Jesus still loves us, he knows the outcome won’t be the best, but he loves us no matter what!  It should be the same within our relationships.  To many times we have viewed a lack of approval or agreement as a lack of love and that’s not the case at all.  A real friend, a true friend wants to best for you and will speak up when she should.  If the goal is to love, encourage and honor the Lord then know that if there is friction in the relationship, the Lord will cover it. It’s not friction or obstacles that keep us from being UNSTOPPABLE, we are stoppable only when we stop.  So never stop being the UNSTOPPABLE Friend that the Lord has called you to be, and likewise, give your UNSTOPPABLE girlfriends a big hug… and maybe take them out for a manicure ;)
