Hi, my name is Nancy and this is our Courageous Faith story.

We are a part of the Kitsap Campus and made a commitment to a campaign back in March of last year called Heart for the House. After prayerful consideration, God had indicated a dollar amount and we committed to a total faith offering which was beyond our means.

At the time, we had a rental house which we were renting out for $400 less than the mortgage payment we were making on it. It only made sense to sell it and we felt this was the time to put it on the market. The house sold in two days.

When we began the Courageous Faith Campaign we made the decision together to continue the commitment we made for Heart for the House last year. Continuing our commitment meant extending a two year commitment to four years. Now our total amount was to three times our original Heart for the House commitment. On January 1, 2017, we decided to start a budget to act in obedience and put everything in order for God. We started a lifestyle that I never would have chosen.

Late in February we received a letter from Hanford Operations and Engineering Pension Plans. Unbeknownst to Daniel he has a pension which is to be disbursed this coming June! Daniel worked at the Hanford Site from October 1981 until March 1990. The pension had categorized him as single. We got married July 17, 2010 so the pension now has to be re-calculated. The lump sum amount of the pension with Daniel categorized as single is $52,893.59. This is $1,893.59 dollars more than the total amount we pledged to Heart for the House and Courageous Faith.

In the Bible God says to test Him when it comes to the principle of tithing; Malachi 3:10 (NIV) says, “ 'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.' " We know that God is Jehovah-Jireh; He is our Provider. As we continue to step out in Courageous Faith He will meet our every need. We have seen God move once again as we stepped out in Courageous Faith!
