Adam's PEACE Center Story

“I came to the PEACE Center pretty skeptical. I didn’t know what they were going to say or how I would be treated. I was a little scared because I didn’t know what the PEACE CEnter was all about. A friend told me about it and invited me to come, so I did. When I came in everyone was so polite, courteous and attentive to my friend and I. We sat around, had co ee and cookies while we got acquainted. I was happy to meet some new people and nd out more about the PEACE Center. The people there helped me get groceries and listened to me. When we were ready to go, they prayed for me and invited me to church. I had been wanting to come back to church for awhile, but no one had invited me. When I got to Capital Christian everyone was very kind and loving toward me. My rst day I attended Meet the Pastors, went straight through the Discipleship Track and completed Intro to PEACE. I was excited to learn everything I could and start serving others. I now attend church every weekend and have renewed my relationship with God. Being a veteran, I was carrying a lot of anger and I really just needed someone to talk to. I attend Celebrate Recovery on Tues- days and Men’s 33 Series on Mondays. I have learned that I am not alone, and there are others who have gone through the same things I have. I’m now volunteering each week at the PEACE Center, where I have become part of the family. Also, I am going back to school studying for my Commercial Driver's License, so that I can go back to work part time!”
