“Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.”
Proverbs 16:3 (CEB)

PEOPLE CAN BE MEAN.

Acts 28 tells us about Paul who was accused of being a murderer…just after saving the lives of everyone on the boat. This gave room for the enemy to strike at Paul’s heart.

He strikes:

  1. A heart that is VACANT.

  2. A heart that is WARM.

  3. A heart reminisces more on the MEMORIES of the PAST than the HOPE for the FUTURE.

“When a demon is cast out of a person, it roams around a dry region, looking for a place to rest, but never finds it. Then it says, ‘I’ll return to the house I moved out of,’ and so it goes back, only to find that the house is vacant, warm, and ready for it to move back in. So it goes looking for seven other demons more evil than itself, and they all enter together to live there. Then the person’s condition becomes much worse than it was in the beginning. This describes what will also happen to the people of this evil generation.” Matthew 12:43-45 TPT

What do we do? YOU SHAKE IT OFF!

“Once everyone was accounted for and we realized we had all made it, we learned that we were on the island of Malta. The natives went out of their way to be friendly to us. The day was rainy and cold and we were already soaked to the bone, but they built a huge bonfire and gathered us around it. Paul pitched in and helped. He had gathered up a bundle of sticks, but when he put it on the fire, a venomous snake, roused from its torpor by the heat, struck his hand and held on. Seeing the snake hanging from Paul’s hand like that, the natives jumped to the conclusion that he was a murderer getting his just deserts. Paul shook the snake off into the fire, none the worse for wear. They kept expecting him to drop dead, but when it was obvious he wasn’t going to, they jumped to the conclusion that he was a god!” Acts 23:1-6 MSG

LIFE CAN BE HARD.

  1. Sometimes GOOD PEOPLE offend us.

  2. The PAIN is REAL.

  3. You can still choose to Get Over It.

From there Jesus took a trip to Tyre and Sidon. They had hardly arrived when a Canaanite woman came down from the hills and pleaded, “Mercy, Master, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly afflicted by an evil spirit.” Jesus ignored her. The disciples came and complained, “Now she’s bothering us. Would you please take care of her? She’s driving us crazy.” Jesus refused, telling them, “I’ve got my hands full dealing with the lost sheep of Israel.” Then the woman came back to Jesus, went to her knees, and begged. “Master, help me.” He said, “It’s not right to take bread out of children’s mouths and throw it to dogs.” She was quick: “You’re right, Master, but beggar dogs do get scraps from the master’s table.” Jesus gave in. “Oh, woman, your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!” Right then her daughter became well.  Matthew 15:21-28 MSG
