WEEKLY MEMORY VERSE
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of
God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:23 (NKJV)
THE FOUR MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP GOALS
TODAY LET’S TALK ABOUT COVENANT KEEPING.
“Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?” “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? So, they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”” Mathew 19:3-6 NIV
GOD WANTS OUR COVENANT TO CREATE SAFETY IN THE RELATIONSHIP.
“The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” Proverbs 18:10 NIV
HOW TO PRACTICE SAFETY IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP:
“Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.” Ephesians 4:26-27 NKJV
“So, husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.” Ephesians 5:28-29 NKJV
1) INTENTIONALLY COMMUNICATE YOUR FEELINGS OF LOVE, ACCEPTANCE AND APPRECIATION.
“Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.”
Proverbs 18:21 MSG
“Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.” Matthew 12:37 MSG
2) BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT HOW YOU GREET AND LEAVE EACH OTHER.
“Greet one another with a holy kiss.” 2 Corinthians 13:12 NIV
3) INTENTIONALLY RENEW YOUR OWN MIND ABOUT YOUR SPOUSE.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NI
4) INTENTIONALLY CHOOSE TO FORGIVE.
“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” Colossians 3:13 NLT
