RELATIONSHIP GOALS

“Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?” Amos 3:3 NKJV

THE FOUR MOST IMPORTANT LIFE GOALS:

  • CHRIST CENTERED

  • PURPOSE DRIVEN

  • PROBLEM SOLVING

  • COVENANT KEEPING

PROBLEM SOLVING (part 2)

“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.” John 5:4 NKJV

IT STARTS WITH ME.

“If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.”
Romans 12:18 NKJV

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.”
Mathew 5:9 NKJV

SEEK PEACE WITH YOUR ENEMY.

“For He who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:10-11 NKJV

TO BE A PEACEMAKER, I MUST LOOK AT MYSELF FIRST.

“If you judge others, you will be judged the same way you judge them. God will treat you the same way you treat others. Why do you notice the small piece of dust that is in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the big piece of wood that is in your own? Why do you say to your friend, ‘Let me take that piece of dust out of your eye’? Look at yourself first! You still have that big piece of wood in your own eye. You are a hypocrite! First, take the wood out of your own eye. Then you will see clearly to get the dust out of your friend’s eye.” Matthew 7:2-5 ERV

1)    WHAT’S IN MY EYE?

“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness. And if the light you think you have is actually darkness, how deep that darkness is!” Matthew 6:22-23 NLT

“…looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross…” Hebrews 12:2a NKJV

2)    WHAT’S IN MY HEART?

“Do you know where your fights and arguments come from? They come from the selfish desires that make war inside you. You want things, but you don’t get them. So you kill and are jealous of others. But you still cannot get what you want. So you argue and fight. You don’t get what you want because you don’t ask God.” James 4:1-2 ERV

“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart.” Ezekiel 36:26 NLT

3)    WHO IS IN MY EARS?

“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3 NKJV

“I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet...Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me.” Revelation 1:10, 12 NKJV

4)    WHAT’S IN MY MOUTH?

“The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Proverbs 12:18 NIV

“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4 NKJV

“…God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did…” Romans 4:17b NKJV

“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.” Hebrews 11:3 NKJV

“Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.”
Ephesians 4:29-30 NKJV

5)    WHAT’S IN MY HAND?

“My friends, do not try to punish others when they wrong you, …But you should do this: “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink. Doing this will be like pouring burning coals on his head.” Do not let evil defeat you, but defeat evil by doing good.” Romans 12:19a-21 NCV
