and you will find rest for your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29 (NKJV)

RELATIONSHIP GOALS

THE FOUR MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP GOALS:

  • CHRIST CENTERED

  • PURPOSE DRIVEN

  • PROBLEM SOLVING

  • COVENANT KEEPING

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”” Ephesians 6:1-3 NIV

I) HOW CAN I SHOW HONOR?

1) HONOR YOUR MOTHER BY GIVING ACCEPTANCE.

“Christ accepted you, so you should accept each other, which will bring glory to God.” Romans 15:7 NCV

2) HONOR YOUR MOTHER BY GIVING APPRECIATION.

“Now, brothers and sisters, we ask you to appreciate those who work hard among you, who lead you in the Lord and teach you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:12 NCV

3) HONOR YOUR MOTHER WITH GIVING AFFIRMATION.

“For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.” 2 Corinthians 3:9 NKJV

II) WHAT MAKES THE COMMANDMENT TO HONOR SUCH A BIG DEAL?

BECAUSE PARENTING IS A PURPOSE DRIVEN MISSION

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.”” Genesis 1:27-28a NKJV

“Go therefore and make disciples.” Matthew 28:19a NKJV

“As for parents, don’t provoke your children to anger, but raise them with discipline and instruction about the Lord.” Ephesians 6:4 CEB
