WEEKLY MEMORY VERSE
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Romans 8:1-2 (NKJV)
THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED
THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED IS A BATTLE TO STORE UP A SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE.
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children.” Proverbs 13:22a NKJV
“For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”
Exodus 20:5b-6 NKJV
“And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.” Romans 11:23 NIV
THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED IS A BATTLE FOR THREE GENERATIONS.
“Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”” Exodus 3:6 NKJV
WHAT IS THE BATTLE OF THE FIRST GENERATION?
1) THE BATTLE OF THE FIRST GENERATION IS TO LEAVE.
“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”” Genesis 12:1 NIV
TO LEAVE YOUR PLACE
“Wouldn’t it be better for us to go back to Egypt?” And they said to each other, “We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt.”” Numbers 14:3b-4 NIV
TO LEAVE YOUR PEOPLE
“Yes, Lot was a righteous man who was tormented in his soul by the wickedness he saw and heard day after day.” 2 Peter 2:8 NLT
TO LEAVE YOUR FAMILY
“Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.” Genesis 2:24 NKJV
2) WHEN WE LEAVE BY FAITH WE OFTEN DON’T HAVE A MAP.
“By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.” Hebrews 11:8-9 NKJV
“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Hebrews 12:1-2a NKJV
3) THE BATTLE OF THE FIRST GENERATION IS TO ENTER AN AGREEMENT WITH GOD.
(Abraham’s covenant-Genesis 15:1-18)
“And he believed in the LORD, and He accounted it to him for righteousness.”
Genesis 15:6 NKJV
“On the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram….” Genesis 15:18a NKJV
“For the Scriptures tell us, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. But people are counted as righteous, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives sinners.” Romans 4:3-5 NLT
