Battle For Your Seed - Mar 16 & 17

WEEKLY MEMORY VERSE
“He shows mercy to everyone, from one generation
to the next, who honors him as God.”
Luke 1:50 (CEB)

WHAT IS THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED?

1) THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED IS A SPIRITUAL BATTLE FOR YOUR CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN. One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.” Psalms 145:4 NKJV

“When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the LORD nor the work which He had done for Israel.” Judges 2:10 NKJV

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.”
Genesis 17:7 NKJV

“Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God. And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey…”
Exodus 3:6-8 NKJV

2)  THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED IS TO STORE UP A SPIRITUAL INHERITANCE.
“A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children, but the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.” Proverbs 13:22 NKJV

“Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.” Isaiah 55:3 NLT

WHAT WAS GOD’S COVENANT WITH DAVID?

“If his sons forsake My law and do not walk in My judgments, if they break My statutes and do not keep My commandments, then I will punish their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless, My lovingkindness I will not utterly take from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail. My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of My lips.” Psalms 89:28-34 NKJV

God’s covenant with David:
1)    11 years after his death, Solomon asked God to remember His covenant with David II Chronicles 6:42
2)    20 some years after his death, he says to Solomon 1 Kings 11:9-13
3)    50 some years after his death, he says to Abijam 1 Kings 15:1-4
4)    300 plus years after his death, he says to Hezekiah II Kings 19:32

3)    THE BATTLE FOR YOUR SEED IS A BATTLE FOR THREE GENERATIONS.
Moreover He said, “I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Exodus 3:6 NKJV

“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.”
Genesis 17:7 NKJV

  • THE BATTLE OF THE FIRST GENERATION IS TO LEAVE AND SEPARATE.

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people, and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1 NIV

  • THE BATTLE OF THE SECOND GENERATION IS YOUR CHILDREN’S BATTLE WITH FAMILIARITY.

“But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children.” Psalms 103:17 NKJV

  • THE BATTLE OF THE THRID GENERATION IS FOR SPIRITUAL MOMENTUM AND LEGACY.

“When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also. Therefore, I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.” II Timothy 1:5-6 NKJV
