SIX FACETS OF GOD’S GRACE

  • SIMPLE GRACE

  • CONSTANT GRACE

  • COMFORTING GRACE

  • FEARLESS GRACE

  • SELFLESS GRACE

  • DARING GRACE

TODAY LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT SIMPLE GRACE

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 NIV

1)    SIMPLE GRACE IS THE GIFT OF SALVATION

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 NLT

2)    GRACE IS THE GIFT THAT HAS THE POWER TO IMPROVE MY LIFE

“Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand…” Romans 5:2a NLT

“… I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10b NKJV

3)    GRACE IS THE GIFT THAT GIVES ME A FUTURE WITH HOPE

“… God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope,” 2 Thessalonians 2:16b NLT

“Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.” Titus 3:7 NLT

HOW CAN I EXPERIENCE GOD’S GRACE?

GOD’S SIMPLE GRACE IS A GIFT BUT IT MUST BE RECEIVED BY FAITH

“Through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” Romans 5:2 NKJV

“… God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Romans 12:3b NKJV

“God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6b NKJV

PETER WAS RADICALLY IMPACTED BY GOD’S GRACE.

“After breakfast Jesus asked Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter replied, “you know I love you.” “Then feed my lambs,” Jesus told him. Jesus repeated the question: “Simon son of John, do you love me?” “Yes, Lord,” Peter said, “you know I love you.” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said. A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep. “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and take you where you don’t want to go.” Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.””  John 21:15-19 NLT

THREE THINGS PETER DID TO BE IMPACTED BY GOD’S GRACE

  • HE PAUSED LONG ENOUGH TO GET INTO GOD’S GOD PRESENCE

  • HE LISTENED TO WHAT GOD HAD TO SAY

  • HE TOOK IT ALL IN WHEN HE WALKED AWAY

“All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.” 2 Corinthians 4:15 NLT

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,” 2 Peter 1:2 NKJV
