OPENING THE DOOR TO FINANCIAL PEACE
THE STEWARDSHIP OF SUCCESS
“I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17b NKJV
“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV
1) WEALTH IS A GIFT.
“When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” Deuteronomy 8:10-18 NIV
“And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”” Exodus 3:21-22 NKJV
2) WEALTH IS RELATIVE.
“People who have wealth but lack understanding are like the beasts that perish.” Psalm 49:20 NIV
3) WEALTH IS A RESPONSIBILITY.
““Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?” Luke 16:10-11 NIV
AVOID THE PITFALLS OF MONEY:
- THE LOVE OF MONEY CAN PULL ME AWAY FROM GOD AND INTO INDULGENCE.
“People who want to be rich fall into all sorts of temptations and traps. They are caught by foolish and harmful desires that drag them down and destroy them. The love of money causes all kinds of trouble. Some people want money so much they have given up their faith and caused themselves a lot of pain.” 1 Timothy 6:9-10 CEV
- MONEY WILL MAKE ME HAPPY.
“Those who love money will never have enough. How meaningless to think that wealth brings true happiness! The more you have, the more people come to help you spend it. So what good is wealth—except perhaps to watch it slip through your fingers!” Ecclesiastes 5:10-11 NLT
- MONEY WILL GRANT ME SECURITY.
“Be wise enough not to wear yourself out trying to get rich. Your money can be gone in a flash, as if it had grown wings and flown away like an eagle.” Proverbs 23:4-5 GNT
- MONEY WILL MAKE ME MORE IMPORTANT THAN OTHERS.
“And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”” Luke 12:15 NKJV
4) WEALTH IS A COMMITMENT.
“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.” Joshua 1:8 NLT
“Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.” Proverbs 10:4 NIV
- TRADE YOUR TIME
- TRADE YOUR ABILITY
- TRADE YOUR WISDOM
- TRADE YOUR MONEY
WORSHIP GOD WITH YOUR WEALTH
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.” Proverbs 3:9 NLT
“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:21 NLT
“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:7-8 NKJV
