OPENING THE DOOR TO FINANCIAL PEACE
“A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry, and money is the answer for everything.” Ecclesiastes 10:19 NIV
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be loyal to the one and have contempt for the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.” Matthew 6:24 CEB
AS CHRISTIANS HOW DOES GOD WANT ME TO THINK ABOUT MONEY?
1) REALIZE THAT EVERYTHING BELONGS TO GOD.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it. The world and all its people belong to him.” Psalm 24:1 NLT
AS A STEWARD HE WANTS US TO…
- Recognize what is His.
- Manage it for His glory.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 NIV
- Give account on the day of judgement.
See Luke 12:42-48.
2) BELIEVE THAT GOD WANTS YOU TO LEARN TO PROSPER HIS WAY
“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17 NKJV
3) BELIEVE THAT GOD WANTS GIVES YOU POWER TO GET WEALTH FOR A PURPOSE.
“And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed. But every woman shall ask of her neighbor, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”” Exodus 3:21-22 NKJV
THREE PURPOSES FOR WEALTH:
- To establish His Kingdom and serve others.
““And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.” Deuteronomy 8:18 NKJV
- To create generational wealth.
“A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous.” Proverbs 13:22 NIV
- To enjoy it without guilt.
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” 1 Timothy 6:17 NIV
4) LEARN TO BE CONTENT AND NOT WORRY ABOUT MONEY.
“Now godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.” 1 Timothy 6:6-8 NKJV
