I am the Door - Apr 7 & 8

OPENING THE DOOR TO A BETTER LIFE

“I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:9-10 NKJV

OPENING THE DOOR TO A BETTER MARRIAGE

“For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. He did this to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Instead, she will be holy and without fault. In the same way, husbands ought to love their wives as they love their own bodies. For a man who loves his wife actually shows love for himself. No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church.” Ephesians 5:25-29 NLT

FIVE WAYS A HUSBAND CAN OPEN THE DOOR FOR HIS WIFE

1)     GIVE HER YOUR ATTENTION. — He gave up his life for her

“This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” Genesis 2:24 NLT

“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7 NKJV

2)    GIVE HER WORDS OF AFFIRMATION. —  washed by the cleansing of God’s word

“So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT

3)    SHOW HER ACCEPTANCE. —  a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle

“Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.” Romans 15:7 NIV

“Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.” Romans 14:13 NIV

4)    GIVE HER AMNESTY. — without fault

“And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:32 NKJV

5)    SHOW HER AFFECTION. — No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it

“Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband.” 1 Corinthians 7:3 NKJV
