PRAYING FOR YOUR BREAKTHROUGH
“So David went to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there; and he said, “The LORD has broken through my enemies before me, like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore he called the name of that place Baal Perazim.” 2 Samuel 5:20 NKJV
1) BEFORE YOU TELL GOD WHAT YOU WANT, ASK HIM WHAT HE WANTS.
“He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.” Luke 22:41-44 NIV
"Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”” Matthew 9:37- 38 NKJV
“The prayer was no sooner prayed than it was answered. Jesus called twelve of his followers and sent them into the ripe fields. He gave them power to kick out the evil spirits and to tenderly care for the bruised and hurt lives." Matthew 10:1 MSG
“And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:13 NKJV
“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” 1 John 5:14-15 NKJV
2) PRAY THE PRAYERS THAT GOD GIVES YOU TO PRAY.
“What you say can mean life or death. Those who speak with care will be rewarded.” Proverbs 18:21 NCV
“The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” Matthew 12:37 NLT
“This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’” Zechariah 4:6-7 NKJV
"Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:26-28 NKJV
“… and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion." Ephesians 6:17-18a NLT
3) BE PERSISTENT AND STAY RELENTLESS IN PRAYER
"Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers...” Ephesians 6:18b NLT
“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.” Matthew 11:12 NKJV
“Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,” Luke 18:1 NKJV
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24 KJV
4) GET INTO ALIGNMENT WITH GOD’S WORD.
“For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12 NKJV
· Confess any sin
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NKJV
“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.” 1 Peter 3:7 NKJV
5) THANK GOD IN ADVANCE.
“... and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?"" Matthew 21:16 NKJV
