YOU BELONG IN GOD’S FAMILY
“…for it is his [God’s] boundless mercy that has given us the privilege of being born again so that we are now members of God’s own family.” 1 Peter 1:3b LB
“That family is the church of the living God, the support and foundation of the truth.” 1 Timothy 3:15b NCV
“You are members of God’s family. Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.” Ephesians 2:19b-20 NLT
BENEFITS TO BELONGING TO GOD’S FAMILY
1) IT HELPS ME STAY FOCUSED ON GOD
“Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.” Psalms 34:3 NKJV
“Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.” Matthew 6:33 NCV
2) IT HELPS ME FACE LIFE’S PROBLEMS
“So it is with Christ’s body. We are many parts of one body, and we all belong to each other.” Romans 12:5 NLT
“Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:10-11 NLT
3) IT HELPS ME TO GROW
“Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,” Psalms 92:13-14 NKJV
4) IT HELPS ME FIND MY MINISTRY
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,” Ephesians 4:11-12 NKJV
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 NKJV
5) IT HELPS ME TO SHARE THE MESSAGE OF CHRIST
“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” Mark 16:15 NLT
“For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”” Romans 10:13-15 NLT
HOW DO I BECOME A PART OF GOD’S FAMILY?
• FIRST YOU MUST BE BORN INTO IT.
“Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, unless you are born again, you cannot be in God’s kingdom.”” John 3:3-8 NCV
“If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10 NIV
• SECOND MAKE A COMMITMENT TO GOD’S FAMILY.
