I FOUND: THE POWER TO CHANGE II
week 7

CHRIST GIVES US A NEW POWER SOURCE TO PLUG INTO “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (NKJV)

HAVE YOU EVER FACED DISCOURAGEMENT AND WANTED TO GIVE UP?

“Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, “Grant me justice against my adversary.” “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!” And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:1-8 (NIV)

“How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?” Psalm 13:1-2 (NIV)

HOW CAN I STAY ENCOURAGED TO PRAY?

1) DON’T GO GLOBAL

“…Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8 (NKJV)

2) ANCHOR YOURSELF IN WHAT IS TRUE

“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.” Psalm 13:5-6 (NIV)

3) ASK GOD WHAT SHOULD I PRAY IN THIS SITUATION

“Lord, teach us to pray…” Luke 11:1a (NIV)

“…Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8 (NKJV)

I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19 (NIV)

“…The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:16b (NIV)

“Greetings from Epaphras, another member of your group and a servant of Christ Jesus. He always prays fervently for you, asking God to make you stand firm, as mature and fully convinced Christians, in complete obedience to God's will.” Colossians 4:12 (GNB)

“...He is always wrestling in prayer for you Colossians 4:12 (NIV)

“And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV)

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:19-20 (NKJV)
