I FOUND: THE POWER TO CHANGE
4-24-16

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO CHANGE ABOUT YOUR LIFE?

WHERE DO I GET THE POWER TO CHANGE? “I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead…” Philippians 3:10a(NLT)

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor…” Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT)

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

1) PLUGGING INTO THE POWER REQUIRES TRUST

“For we live by believing and not by seeing.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLT)

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

“…workout your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:12b-13 (NKJV)

2) PLUGGING INTO GOD’S POWER CANCELS MY PAST

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” II Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

“Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.’ ” So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage.” Exodus 6:6-9 (NKJV)

“…He said, “It is finished!” John 19:30a (NKJV)

“Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:13-14 (NKJV)

3) DON’T PUT OFF PLUGGING INTO GOD’S POWER

“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”  I Corinthians 1:18 (NKJV)

For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you.” II Corinthians 13:4 (NKJV)

“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” II Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV)

“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? Romans 8:35 (NIV)

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37 (NIV)
