OUR PRAYER: GOD HELPS US TO BE THE CHURCH YOU WANT US TO BE AND NEED US TO BE

OUR VISION: TO GATHER IN THE UNCHURCHED AND DISCIPLE THEM INTO DEVOTED FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST

NEVER EVER UNDERESTIMATE THE AWESOME POWER OF A PERSONAL INVITATION

“Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote—Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” John 1:45-46 (NKJV)

FOUR COMMON BARRIERS

a)    THE IMAGE BARRIER

b)    THE CULTURAL BARRIER

c)    THE GOSPEL BARRIER

d)    THE COMMITMENT BARRIER

JESUS WALKED ACROSS BARRIERS TO GATHER US

“When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.” Romans 5:6-8 (NLT)

“The Son of Man came to find lost people and save them.” Luke 19:10 (NCV)

“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” John 3:17 (NKJV)

WILL YOU WALK ACROSS THE ROOM FOR JESUS?

…Go home to your family and tell them how much the Lord has done for you and how he has had mercy on you.” So the man left and began to tell the people in the Ten Towns about what Jesus had done for him. And everyone was amazed.” Mark 5:19-20 (NCV)

“For the love of Christ compels us… II Corinthians 5:14a (NKJV)

“Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23 (NKJV)

1) LET’S CRANK UP THE BOLDNESS

“And now, Lord, listen to their threats. Lord, help us, your servants, to speak your word without fear. Show us your power to heal. Give proofs and make miracles happen by the power of Jesus, your holy servant.” After they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke God’s word without fear.” Acts 4:29-31 (NCV)

2) ALLOW THE LOVE OF GOD TO MOVE YOU

“Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd. Matthew 9:35-36 (NKJV)

“Jesus said to his followers, “There are many people to harvest but only a few workers to help harvest them. Pray to the Lord, who owns the harvest, that he will send more workers to gather his harvest.” Matthew 9:37-38 (NCV)

3) LOOK FOR OPPORTUNITIES

“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6 (NLT)

“A man was there named Zacchaeus, who was a very important tax collector, and he was wealthy. He wanted to see who Jesus was, but he was not able because he was too short to see above the crowd. He ran ahead to a place where Jesus would come, and he climbed a sycamore tree so he could see him. When Jesus came to that place, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down! I must stay at your house today.” Zacchaeus came down quickly and welcomed him gladly.” Luke 19:2-6 (NCV)

“When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.” 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 (NLT)

4) BE PREPARED

“Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your hope as a believer, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way. 1 Peter 3:15 (NLT)
