COURAGEOUS FAITH

Week 9 Pastor Dave Minton

“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. “Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name. But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.”     I Chronicles 29:11-14 NKJV

EIGHT PROMISED BLESSINGS OF GIVING BY FAITH

1)     GENEROSITY WILL DRAWS ME CLOSER TO GOD

“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” Matthew 6:21 NLT

“Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!” Proverbs 21:26 NLT

2)     GENEROSITY IS THE ANTIDOTE TO MATERIALISM

“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”    1 Timothy 6:17-19 NIV

“For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” I Timothy 6:10 NKJV

3)     GENEROSITY WILL  INCREASES MY HAPPINESS

“….remembering the words that the Lord Jesus himself said, ‘There is more happiness in giving than in receiving.’””   Acts 20:35 GNT

4)     GENEROSITY WILL  EXPANDS MY INFLUENCE

“The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.”    Proverbs 11:24 MSG

“They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor.” Psalms 112:9 NLT

5)     GENEROSITY  WILL BRINGS GOD’S BLESSINGS

“So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.”    II Corinthians 9:7-8 NKJV

“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.””      Luke 6:38 NKJV

6)     GENEROSITY WILL BRINGS GOD’S PROTECTION

“Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the LORD to care for them.”   Psalms 112:5-7 NLT

““And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes,….” Malachi 3:11a NKJV

7)     GENEROSITY WILL RELEASES GOD’S ABILITY TO PROSPER

“But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.”     Deuteronomy 8:18 NIV

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” Proverbs 11:25 NIV

8)     GENEROSITY WILL  BRINGS GOD’S  REWARD IN HEAVEN

“Here’s the lesson: Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.”   Luke 16:9 NLT

““O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own. I know also, my God, that You test the heart and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things; and now with joy I have seen Your people, who are present here to offer willingly to You.” 1 Chronicles 29:16-17 NKJV
