WHAT SHOULD I CELEBRATE THIS CHRISTMAS?

Pastor Dave Minton

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.” Luke 10-2:8 NIV

2) GOD IS WITH ME

Now behold, two of them were traveling that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was seven miles from Jerusalem. And they talked together of all these things which had happened. So it was, while they conversed and reasoned, that Jesus Himself drew near and went with them. But their eyes were restrained, so that they did not know Him. And He said to them, “What kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?” ... And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. ... Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, “Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” Luke 32-17, 27, 30-24:13 NKJV

“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.” 1 Peter 5:7 NLT

“In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3 NIV

3) GOD IS FOR ME

"For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:17 NIV

“… I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 NKJV

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31  NKJV

“God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us.” Acts 17:27 NIV
