Week 4 1-30-16

WHAT WILL YOUR FUTURE HOLD?

“You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.” Psalms 65:11 (NKJV)

“After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.” Joshua 1:1-3 (NIV)

HOW DO WE POSSESS THE FUTURE THAT GOD HAS FOR US?

1) YOU NEED A DREAM AND A PLAN TO INVEST INTO

“Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River…” Joshua 1:2 (NIV)

“Moses my servant is dead. Therefore, the time has come for you to lead these people….” Joshua 1:2 (NLT)

“A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV)

“But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.” II Corinthians 9:6-8 (NKJV)

“For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” James 1:7-8 (NKJV)

2) MAKE INVESTMENTS INTO GOD’S WISDOM

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Joshua 1:7-8 (NIV)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NKJV)

“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16-17 (NKJV)

3) STEP OUT IN FAITH

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 (NIV)

Honor the LORD with your possessions, and with the first fruits of all your increase; So your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.” Proverbs 3:9-10 (NKJV)

“Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?” James 2:21-22 (NKJV)
