FRESH START
Week 2 1-16-16

WHO NEEDS A FRESH START?

GOD HAS A GAME PLAN FOR YOUR YEAR

“You crown the year with Your goodness, And Your paths drip with abundance.” Psalms 65:11 (NKJV)

“I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Then the LORD answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:1-2 (NKJV)

1)  TAKE THE TIME TO SIT IN GOD’S PRESENCE

“I will stand my watch And set myself on the rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, Habakkuk 2:1a (NKJV)

“but the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful.” Mark 4:19 (NIV)

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:29-31 (NIV)

2) MAKE SOME MUCH NEEDED CUTS

And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will answer when I am corrected. Habakkuk 2:1b (NKJV)

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit.” John 15:1-2 (NKJV)

·      WHAT’S THE PURPOSE OF PRUNING?

“Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Acts 2:37 (NKJV)

“When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.” Acts 7:54 (NKJV)

·      WHAT DO I NEED TO PRUNE?

“Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.” I Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV)

“Don’t team up with those who are unbelievers. How can righteousness be a partner with wickedness? How can light live with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14 (NLT)

3) WRITE GOD’S VISION AND MAKE PLAIN

“Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2a (NKJV)

“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (NIV)

“Then he told me, “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘You will not succeed by your own strength or by your own power, but by my Spirit,’ says the LORD All-Powerful.” Zechariah 4:6 (NCV)

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” Ephesians 3:20 (NKJV)

4) HURRY UP AND WAIT

“Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time… Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, It will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:2b-3a (NKJV)
