AMERICA NEEDS HEALING

May 23-24

Memorial Day Weekend

WHAT WILL IT TAKE?

if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV)

PERSONAL REVIVAL STARTS WITH RECONNECTING WITH GOD

(Luke 15:11-24 NCV)

HOW DO I RECONNECT WITH GOD?

1) RECOGNIZE MY NEED FOR GOD AND RETURN

This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved.   (Isaiah 30:15a  NLT)

Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the LORD your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. (Joel 2:13 NLT)

2) REJOICE IN GOD’S GRACE

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! (Philippians 4:4 NIV)

in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (I Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV)

 (Habakkuk 3:17-18 NLT)

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. (Romans 5:3-5 NLT)

3) REPENT OF SELF CENTEREDNESS

A person’s selfish desires are set against the Spirit, and the Spirit is set against one’s selfish desires. They are opposed to each other, so you shouldn’t do whatever you want to do. The actions that are produced by selfish motives are obvious, since they include sexual immorality, moral corruption, doing whatever feels good, idolatry, drug use and casting spells, hate, fighting, obsession, losing your temper, competitive opposition, conflict, selfishness, group rivalry, jealousy, drunkenness, partying, and other things like that. I warn you as I have already warned you, that those who do these kinds of things won’t inherit God’s kingdom. (Galatians 5:17, 19-21 CEB)

4) RESPOND TO HIS REQUESTS

Whoever serves me must follow me. Wherever I am, there my servant will also be. My Father will honor whoever serves me. (John 12:26 CEB)

If at that time you and your children return to the LORD your God, and if you obey with all your heart and all your soul all the commands I have given you today, then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes… (Deuteronomy 30:2-3a NLT)
