You are no longer slaves. You are God's children, and you will be given what he has promised. (Galatians 4:7 CEV))

When Bartimaeus heard that Jesus of Nazareth was nearby, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” “Be quiet!” many of the people yelled at him. But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” When Jesus heard him, he stopped and said, “Tell him to come here.” So they called the blind man. “Cheer up,” they said. “Come on, he’s calling you!” Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked. “My Rabbi, ” the blind man said, “I want to see!” (Mark 10:47-51 NLT)

In my distress I cried out to the Lord; I cried out to my God. God heard my voice from his temple; my cry for help reached his ears. (2 Samuel 22:7 CEB)

 1. TO FIND OUR VOICE

WE MUST HEAR HIS VOICE

And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” (1 Kings 19:12-13 NIV)

HIS VOICE SHAPES MY IDENTITY

And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.” (Luke 3:22b  NIV)

HIS VOICE CHANGES MY PERSPECTIVE

As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” “Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,”  (Acts 9:3-5 NIV)

HIS VOICE REVEALS MY PURPOSE

“This is strange!” he said to himself. “I'll go over and see why the bush isn't burning up.” When the Lord saw Moses coming near, he called him by name from the bush, and Moses answered, “Here I am.” (Exodus 3:3-4 CEV)

…the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. (Deuteronomy 30:14b NIV)

THREE WORDS GOD WANTS TO PUT IN YOUR MOUTH

A RHEMA WORD- A VOICE OF FAITH

And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; (Ephesians 6:17 NKJV)

So he answered and said to me: “This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the LORD of hosts. ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!” ’ ” (Zechariah 4:6-7 NKJV)

A WORD OF DIRECTION – A VOICE OF WISDOM

Wisdom shouts in the street; in the public square she raises her voice. (Proverbs 1:20 CEB)

To the man he said, "Because you listened to your wife’s voice and you ate from the tree that I commanded, ‘Don’t eat from it," (Genesis 3:17a CEB)

Consider ships: They are so large that strong winds are needed to drive them. But pilots direct their ships wherever they want with a little rudder. In the same way, even though the tongue is a small part of the body, it boasts wildly.. (James 3:4-5a CEB)

“A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’ ” (Matthew 3:3 NIV)

A WORD OF PRAISE- A VOICE OF TRIUMPH

Then some Levites ……. stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. (2 Chronicles 20:19 NIV)

As they began to sing and praise, the Lord set ambushes against the men of Ammon and Moab and Mount Seir who were invading Judah, and they were defeated. (2 Chronicles 20:22 NIV)

He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, (Romans 4:20 NKJV)
