THE BRIDGE TO INTIMACY AND CONNECTION REQUIRES EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

And the disciples came and said to Him, “Why do You speak to them in parables?” (Matthew 13:10 NKJV)

Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. And in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled, which says: ‘Hearing you will hear and shall not understand, And seeing you will see and not perceive; For the hearts of this people have grown dull. WHEN LISTENING

1)   SEEK TO UNDERSTAND

Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. (I Peter 3:7 NKJV)

The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness. (Proverbs 15:14 NKJV)

2)    ASK  QUESTIONS

The purposes of a person’s heart are deep waters, but one who has insight draws them out. (Proverbs 20:5 NIV)

3)   BE PATIENT AND FOLLOW ALONG

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:6 NKJV)

4)   PRACTICE SELF DISCLOSURE

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. (James 5:16 NIV)
