ALL IN

LIVING A LIFE OF DEDICATION TO THE THINGS IN LIFE THAT MATTER THE MOST

3-7-15 WEEK 9

Whatever you do, do it from the heart for the Lord and not for people. Colossians 3:23 (CEB)

DO YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR WORK?

I have seen what is best for people here on earth. They should eat and drink and enjoy their work, because the life God has given them on earth is short. God gives some people the ability to enjoy the wealth and property he gives them, as well as the ability to accept their state in life and enjoy their work. They do not worry about how short life is, because God keeps them busy with what they love to do.  Ecclesiastes 5:18-20 (NCV)

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. Genesis 2:15 (NIV)

Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” John 5:17 (NIV)

DO YOU WANT TO EXCEL IN YOUR WORK?

Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings;...   Proverbs 22:29a (NKJV)

HOW CAN I EXCEL IN MY WORK?

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will succeed.  Proverbs 16:3 (CEB)

While he was in jail, the Lord was with Joseph and remained loyal to him. He caused the jail’s commander to think highly of Joseph. The jail’s commander put all of the prisoners in the jail under Joseph’s supervision, and he was the one who determined everything that happened there. The jail’s commander paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s supervision, because the Lord was with him and made everything he did successful. Genesis 39:20b-23 (CEB)

1. LEARN TO WORK UNSUPERVISED

2 GO THE EXTRA MILE

If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.   Matthew 5:41 (NIV)

3. HAVE  A POSITIVE ATTITUDE

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, Philippians 2:14 (NIV)

I, therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live worthily of the calling with which you have been called, Ephesians 4:1 (NET)

4. DEVELOP  AND SHARPEN  YOUR SKILLS

Do yourself a favor and learn all you can; then remember what you learn and you will prosper. Proverbs 19:8 (GNB)

If the ax is dull, And one does not sharpen the edge, Then he must use more strength; But wisdom brings success.  Ecclesiastes 10:10 (NKJV)

A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small. Proverbs 24:5, 10 (NKJV)

observe people who are good at their work— skilled workers are always in demand and admired; they don’t take a backseat to anyone. Proverbs 22:29 (MSG)

5. KEEP YOUR WORD AND BE DEPENDABLE

Putting confidence in an unreliable person in times of trouble is like chewing with a broken tooth or walking on a lame foot.  Proverbs 25:19 (NLT)
