BETTER TOGETHER
WHEN WE REACH OUT TOGETHER
Week 2 10-11-15

Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor.  For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. . Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NKJV)

Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken. Ecclesiastes 4:12 (NKJV)

Just be sure you live as God’s people in a way that honors the Good News of Christ. Then if I come and visit you or if I am away from you, I will hear good things about you. I will know that you stand together with the same purpose and that you work together like a team to help others believe the Good News. Philippians 1:27 (ERV)

Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. Philippians 1:4-5(NLT)

P.    PRAY TOGETHER

Also pray for us that God will give us an opportunity to tell people his message. Pray that we can preach the secret that God has made known about Christ.  Colossians 4:3a (NCV)

Epaphras, a servant of Jesus Christ, from your group, also greets you. He always prays for you that you will grow to be spiritually mature and have everything God wants for you. Colossians 4:12 (NCV)

A.    APPEAL TO COMMON INTERESTS

When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings. 1 Corinthians 9:22-23 (NLT)

R.   REACH OUT TOGETHER IN LOVE

Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well. 1 Thessalonians 2:8 (NIV)

If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit. Either way, Christ’s love controls us 2 Corinthians 5:13-14a (NLT)

T.    TELL YOUR STORY

But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. 1 Peter 2:9-10 (MSG)

Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. Psalms 66:16 (NLT)

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone. Colossians 4:6 (NIV)

N.   NURTURE FRIENDSHIPS

Be friendly with everyone. Don't be proud and feel that you know more than others. Make friends with ordinary people. Romans 12:16 (CEV)

A man who has friends must himself be friendly, But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 (NKJV)

Then Levi gave a big dinner for Jesus at his house. Many tax collectors and other people were eating there, too. But the Pharisees and the men who taught the law for the Pharisees began to complain to Jesus’ followers, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy people who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to invite good people but sinners to change their hearts and lives.” Luke 5:29-32 (NCV)

E.  EXPECT GOD TO ACT

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)

Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a sleeping mat. They tried to take him inside to Jesus, but they couldn’t reach him because of the crowd. So they went up to the roof and took off some tiles. Then they lowered the sick man on his mat down into the crowd, right in front of Jesus. Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, “Young man, your sins are forgiven.” Luke 5:18-20 (NLT)

R. REPRESENT CHRIST WITH YOUR LIFE

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17 (NLT)

Do all you can to live a peaceful life. Take care of your own business, and do your own work as we have already told you. If you do, then people who are not believers will respect you 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12a (NCV)
