THE STORY OF MY LIFE

Week 1

Then they began to plead with Him to depart from their region. And when He got into the boat, he who had been demon-possessed begged Him that he might be with Him. However, Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go home to your friends, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He has had compassion on you.” And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis all that Jesus had done for him; and all marveled. (Mark 5:17-20 NKJV)

                                                                  SHARING MY STORY

YOUR LIFE MESSAGE IS WHAT GOD WANTS TO SAY TO THE WORLD THROUGH YOU

... And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” (2 Corinthians 5:18b- 20 NLT)

Give thanks to the lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. (Psalms 105:1 NLT)

I don’t care about my own life. The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me—to tell people the Good News about God’s grace. (Acts 20:24 NCV)

                                                                     SHARING MY STORY
YOUR PERSONAL STORY IS THE MOST POWERFUL WAY TO CONNECT WHEN COMMUNICATING

Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what he did for me. (Psalms 66:16 NLT)

Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” (John 4:39 NIV)

He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner or not I do not know. One thing I know: that though I was blind, now I see.” (John 9:25 NKJV)

Listen carefully. I’m speaking sober truth to you. I speak only of what I know by experience; I give witness only to what I have seen with my own eyes. There is nothing secondhand here, no hearsay.  (John 3:11 MSG)

WHY YOUR STORY IS SO IMPORTANT

1)  YOUR STORY IS UNIQUE

But you are the ones chosen by God, ......... God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. (1 Peter 2:9, 10 MSG)

2) YOUR STORY IS  PERSONAL

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the lord will be saved.” But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!” (Romans 10:13-15 NLT)

3) YOUR STORY IS POWERFUL

So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:18-20 NKJV)

4) YOUR STORY CAN BE LIFE CHANGING

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NIV

... And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” (2 Corinthians 5:18b- 20 NLT)

who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (I Timothy 2:4 NKJV)

HOW DO I TELL MY STORY?

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, (1 Peter 3:15 NIV)

WHAT MY LIFE WAS LIKE BEFORE I MET CHRIST
HOW I CAME TO REALIZE I NEEDED CHRIST
HOW I COMMITTED MY LIFE TO CHRIST
THE DIFFERENCE HAVING CHRIST IN MY LIFE HAS MADE
