7   DECISIONS OF A HISTORY MAKER

—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. (Philippians 2:12b, 13 NIV)

DECISION 1
DAViID: HISTORY MAKERS ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY

DECISION 2 SOLOMON:  HISTORY MAKERS  CHOOSE TO SEEK WISDOM

DECISION 3
ABRAHAM: HISTORY MAKERS CHOOSE TO LIVE BY FAITH

Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:1-3 NKJV)

“According to your faith let it be to you.” (Matthew 9:29 NKJV)

WHAT IS FAITH ?
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 NKJV)
EXPECTING GOD'S BEST
The lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.             (Psalms 32:8 NLT)

WHEN WE EXPECT GODS BEST IT HONORS GOD
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 NIV)

WHEN WE EXPECT GOD'S BEST IT INCREASES MY ABILITY
(FAITH ESTABLISHES US)
... Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” (II Chronicles 20:20b NKJV)

WHEN WE EXPECT GOD'S  BEST IT ENCOURAGES OTHERS

HOW CAN I BECOME A PERSON OF FAITH?

1)  TUNE INTO GOD EVERYDAY

In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. (Psalm 5:3 NIV)

Worship God if you want the best; worship opens doors to all his goodness. (Psalm 34:9 MSG)

“Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. (James 2:23 NKJV)

2). THINK ON GOD'S PROMISES THROUGH OUT THE DAY
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 NKJV)

I’ve banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won’t sin myself bankrupt.  (Psalm 119:11 MSG)

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. (Hebrews 10:23 NIV)

3)  TRUST IN GOD'S GOODNESS OVER WHAT YOU SEE

Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. (Psalm 42:11 NIV)

(as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.” And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, (Romans 4:17-20 NKJV)

while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (II Corinthians 4:18 NKJV)

4) STEP OUT IN FAITH
By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. (Hebrews 11:8 NKJV)

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:17, NKJV)
