HOW CAN I HELP THE NEXT GENERATION SUCCEED?

“I showed what you are like to those you gave me from the world. They belonged to you, and you gave them to me, and they have obeyed your teaching. (John 17:6 NCV)

5 BUILDING BLOCKS TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE SUCCEED

1)  HELP THEM ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE
It is better to get wisdom than gold, and to choose understanding rather than silver! (Proverbs 16:16 NCV)

The wise get all the knowledge they can, ...(Proverbs 10:14 a GNT)

If you faint in the day of adversity, Your strength is small. (Proverbs 24:10 NKJV)

A wise man is strong, Yes, a man of knowledge increases strength; (Proverbs 24:5 NKJV)

Knowledge begins with respect for the Lord, but fools hate wisdom and discipline. (Proverbs 1:7 NCV)

When some people adopted this false knowledge, they missed the goal of faith. (1 Timothy 6:21 CEB)

Intelligent people are always eager and ready to learn. (Proverbs 18:15 GNB)

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. (Hosea 4:6 NKJV)

2)  HELP THEM ENLARGE THEIR PERSPECTIVE
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8 NKJV)

Jesus answered, “The things impossible for people are possible for God.” (Luke 18:27 NCV)

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. (II Corinthians 4:17-18 NKJV)

Introduce them to bible reading
I have given them Your word; ... (John 17:14 aNKJV)

And here’s why: God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in Knowledge and Understanding. He’s a rich mine of Common Sense for those who live well, a personal bodyguard. (Proverbs 2:6 MSG)

He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the Lord, happy is he. (Proverbs 16:20 NKJV)

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (Joshua 1:8 NKJV)

Introduce  them to wise people
Keep company with the wise and you will become wise. If you make friends with stupid people, you will be ruined. (Proverbs 13:20 GNT)

The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray. (Proverbs 12:26 NKJV)

3)  HELP THEM CULTIVATE CONVICTIONS

I am in the Lord Jesus, and I know that there is no food that is wrong to eat. But if a person believes something is wrong, that thing is wrong for him. (Romans 14:14 NCV)

But  those who eat something without being sure it is right are wrong because they did not believe it was right. Anything that is done without believing it is right is a sin. (Romans 14:23 NCV)

            Culture values
Pleasure: I want to feel good
Possessions: I want to be rich
Prestige: I want to be envied
Power: I want to be in control

Keep your eyes open, hold tight to your convictions, give it all you’ve got, . (1 Corinthians 16:13, MSG)

Share them passionately

Model them consistently
And for their sake I dedicate myself to you, in order that they, too, may be truly dedicated to you. (John 17:19 GNT)

4)  HELP THEM DEVELOP SKILLS

As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. (Daniel 1:17 NKJV)

Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6 NKJV)

Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions. And the God who gives us peace will be with you. (Philippians 4:9 GNT)

As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. (John 17:18 NKJV)

5)  HELP THEM ESTABLISH CHARACTER

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness. (Ephesians 4:23-24 (NKJV)

My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you, (Galatians 4:19 NKJV)

DO PROTECT THEM FROM EVIL
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23 NKJV)

DONT PROTECT THEM FROM ADVERSITY
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.                (John 17:15 NKJV)

For when we are in union with Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor the lack of it makes any difference at all; what matters is faith that works through love. (Galatians 5:6 GNT)
