TIS' THE SEASON
                                                          WEEK 4 12-27-14

IT'S TIME TO PUT THE PAST AWAY AND GET READY FOR YOUR FUTURE

Brothers and sisters, I know that I have not yet reached that goal, but there is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me through Christ to the life above. (‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭13-14‬ NCV)

PUT AWAY YOUR HURTS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS

Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” (‭Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭62‬ NIV)

PUT AWAY UNHELPFUL TRADITIONS

And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!

Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” (‭Mark‬ ‭7‬:‭9, 13‬ NIV)

PUT AWAY YOUR PAST TO EMBRACE YOUR FUTURE

Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” They immediately left their nets and followed Him. (‭Matthew‬ ‭4‬:‭19-20‬ NKJV)

HOW DO I WRITE GOD'S VISION FOR MY LIFE?

1).  BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS A PLAN AND PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;.. (‭Jeremiah‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬a NIV)

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. (‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ NKJV)

Therefore say to the children of Israel: ‘I am the LORD; I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, I will rescue you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. I will take you as My people, and I will be your God. Then you shall know that I am the LORD your God who brings you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; and I will give it to you as a heritage: I am the LORD.’ ” So Moses spoke thus to the children of Israel; but they did not heed Moses, because of anguish of spirit and cruel bondage. (‭Exodus‬ ‭6‬:‭6-9‬ NKJV)

.... my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly,  (‭Numbers‬ ‭14‬:‭24‬ NIV)

..here I am this day, eighty-five years old. As yet I am as strong this day as on the day that Moses sent me; just as my strength was then, so now is my strength for war, both for going out and for coming in. Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; ..... It may be that the LORD will be with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” (‭Joshua‬ ‭14‬:‭10-12‬ NKJV)
